Rotary (Skate) Park

  • Date Acquired – Opened in 1996
  • Size – 2.71 Acres, GIS Tax Lot 100
  • User Info- Skateboarders, BMX Riders, park was used as part of the short-track cross country mountain bike course for the last Gorge Games.
  • Fun / Interesting Facts- The Hood River Parks & Recreation Department, Rotary Club and volunteers created the park. Lottery dollars have helped to fund improvements.   In 2006, the Skate Park celebrated its 10th anniversary.  Over the years, the Park District has invested several $100,000's of dollars (using funds from the Lottery, as well as Oregon Parks & Recreation Department grants) into creating a  heavily-used recreational facility.  Permanent restrooms, ramps, and fun skate features make the park attractive to skaters.  Personnel from the Parks District spent countless hours in creating the park we have now.  It's a great example of a public/private collaboration that benefits the community.
