Today the Waterfront Park is a favorite of visitors and includes a swimming beach, small amphitheater for music events, a children’s play area, covered picnic structures and a grassy rigging area with adjacent launch for windsurfing, standup paddle boards, out-riggers and other non-motorized water crafts.  A waterfront walking path that connects the Event Site to The Hook passes through the park.

"The nation behaves well if it treats its natural resources as assets which it must turn over to the next generation increased, and not impaired, in value."   Theodore Roosevelt
